Repairing Your Psp Screen

There is nothing worse than cracking your psp's screen. Sony does not cover this under warranty, and the mend will cost you over 0 Us, not together with shipping and taxes. The psp screen is a glass lcd and is very delicate. Lcd screens are susceptible to temperature changes, and the slightest pressure on the lcd, you can legitimately cause it to crack. Fortunately, there are many prophylactic measures to keep your psp in tip top shape, and to help you avoid cracking the screen, or damaging the psp itself.

For starters;

1) Never expose the psp to greatest temperatures - no storing it in the glove box in the winter, or in the direct sunlight in the summer.

2) Never exert any pressure on the screen - try not to touch it at all, as it will only get fingerprints on it, and the oils from your skin. These oils are a itsybitsy harder to remove, and often lead to legitimately cracking the screen from applying to much pressure while cleaning it.

3) Use extra caution when applying screen protectors - the process of applying the protector can cause a crack in the screen when you are applying pressure to bond the protector

4) Improper storage case - some storage cases have extra compartments for games and accessories - always make sure that you are not putting any pressure on the screen while it is in the case.

Now, if you are one of the millions that have a cracked psp screen - or if you have dead pixels on the screen, you Do have some options that won't cost an arm and a leg. The psp screen itself cannot be repaired, but can be replaced. The psp lcd assembly includes the psp lcd, a metal frame, and 2 small ribbon cables. These all include the lcd kit itself.

Replacing the lcd kit requires some very delicate tools and a steady hand. The first rule of thumb is to take your time, and read through as much instructions as you can.
